Real Madrid has won the UEFA Champions League a record nine times, most recently in 2002. The club advanced to the semifinals of last year’s event. The Spanish power has also won its country’s top league competition on 32 occasions, including the just completed La Liga season of 2011-12. Those holding Real Madrid soccer tickets have also been able to root on the club on to 18 Copa del Rey titles.
AC Milan has claimed seven Champions League titles. Real Madrid and AC Milan are the only two clubs to win more than five crowns. AC Milan placed second in Serie A a year ago and has won its league title 18 times, including the 2010-11 edition. The club has also claimed the Coppa Italia title five times. A year ago, those who held AC Milan tickets for sale watched the team advance to the Champions League quarterfinals.
Both teams are preparing for their respective 2012-13 seasons. Real Madrid is expected to play its first La Liga game of the season Aug. 19, and AC Milan will most likely open Serie A play a week later.
